What Do Notaries Do For A Living?

A Notary public is required to be a witness at the signing of documents and to check the sworn oath of each party involved. A notary license holder is a person who is allowed by law to administer oaths, certify documents and take acknowledgments. A notary does not exersise any power or juristiction in any criminal case.

Notaries have to make sure that whoever is signing the document is notarised as the person who says they are. Because of the importance of identities, an notary public has to spend some time verifying identities and those involved with the signings.
