Examine the whole flooring first. But remember that in every house work you do, you always need to prepare your room. Sweep the floor and remove all furniture. When you cleared the room, put an abrasive pad on the rubberized wheel of the polisher you will be using. Install an abrasive screen of 100-grit then start sanding the floor. Make sure the entire floor is sanded. But in-between sanding, take time to sweep or vacuum the floor. For those areas that the polisher cannot reach make use of a random-orbit electric sander.

Next step is to apply finishing on the hardwood floor. Remove all debris and dust brought about by the sanding process. Vacuuming the floor is also a great idea.
