Having regular tune-ups is one the best ways to keep your car in a very good shape. This will prevent you from headaches to due expensive repairs.Your engine will also be running smoothly when you do this.Making your car undergo regular tune-ups will save a lot of money on repairs. Not passing the smog test is one the problems caused by not properly tuning up your car.  I have seen older cars in my smog test San Diego shop that if they were taken care of they would have passed the smog test.This will lead to other problems.
