It is astounding what can happen in one lifetime.
My grandmother was born in the 1880′s. She had to go by ship because the aeroplane hadn’t been invented yet. And before she died a human being had walked on the moon.
For hundreds of thousands of years people lived and died inside a circle with a little radius. I’m absolutely certain we all had family that never traveled more than 30 miles from where they were born, unless you are descended from somebody like Marco Polo.
When I was younger and auto odometers where mechanical, my mates and I would enjoy to look at the numbers turn to something cool, like the change from 9,999 to 10,000. We are swiftly approaching the time when the wheels that keep track of the world’s population turn from 6,999,999,999 to 7,000,000,000. Seven billion humans in the world. A number that is difficult to fathom.
